Public Health of Humboldt County

Humboldt County Public Health is Humboldt County’s Department of Health, with the Board of Health providing oversight for many of the activities.

Public Health Services include:

• Blood pressure screening clinics at the office and work sites
• Immunization Clinics
• Communicable disease control, prevention and follow-up
• School nursing, health resource, and public speaking
• WIC, Maternal Health, child health clinics, oral health and outreach services
• Family Programs including HOPES and Early Head Start.
• Skilled nursing
• Homemaker
• Breastfeeding Education, Postpartum follow-up visits
• Medication Management
• Flu Clinics
• Health Education
• Drug Screens
• Community Wellness Screening
• Corporate Health

 Home Care Aide’s duties directed by the program supervisor include:

• Assistance with personal care
• Routine light housekeeping
• Plan, prepare and serve meals
• Shopping for food and essentials
• Teach household routine and skills

 Humboldt County Public Health offers a variety of services to all ages of residents in Humboldt County.  If we are not able to meet a need of a Humboldt County resident, we will assist with a referral to an agency that can meet a person’s needs.  We are staffed with licensed RN’s; certified home care aides; office manager and social worker.
