Mission Statement

The mission of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Foundation is to generate charitable contributions to improve the health and well-being of the people of Humboldt County.

What is the Foundation?

The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax deductible corporation, formed in 1990 by a group of caring citizens. It was organized and is operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes for the residents of Humboldt County. It has the power to receive funds and property of every kind and nature through purchase, conveyance, lease, gift, grant, bequest or otherwise.

Foundation Board Members

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who oversees the management of all contributions.

Why should I donate to the Hospital Foundation?

Gifts donated through the Foundation, in support of HCMH, are used to help replace aging equipment and facilities with state of the art medical technology, and to subsidize important health care programs and services for Humboldt County.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, as a 501(c)3 charitable organization, your gift to the Foundation is deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

May I designate my donation?

Yes. You may restrict your gift to be used for a specific purpose or department. An unrestricted gift will be put to good use in the area of greatest need.

Can my gift be a memorial?

You may designate your gift in memory or in honor of a special person. The Foundation will notify the person or family of the donation, unless you request anonymity.

How am I recognized for my gift?

In 2002, the Foundation Board developed a donor recognition wall that proudly displays their gratitude and appreciation to the many generous patrons of Humboldt County. Featured in the entryway and the front lobby, the design incorporates the idea of the east and west branch of the Des Moines River meeting in Humboldt complimented by beautiful woodwork. On the east end of the wall are the names of contributors to the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital since its inception in 1970. Names of the contributors to the 1995 capital improvement fund are listed on the four displays labeled “Continuing Our Caring Tradition.”
