Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH) and staff are proud to be the recipient of three community Spirit Awards for 2009

The Spirit Awards annually includes the Horizon Award, an honor given to a business or industry, which as a result of a building improvement, has brightened the county's horizon. This year the award goes to the HCMH with its surgical suite addition and hospital remodeling and improvements.

The HCMH Ambulance Service members are being honored with this year's Spirit Award for Cooperation. The award is given annually to the organization or entity that led an effort that benefits the community and fills a need through volunteerism.

Physical therapist Daryl Short is the recipient of this year's Youth Champion Award for his work with the community athletes.
