HCMH Radiology & Surgery Expansion Project
Humboldt County Memorial Hospital is excited to begin construction on our new MRI and Surgery expansion! As we work to improve and expand our facility, patients may notice temporary changes to parking, registration, and patient care areas.
Beginning September 14, 2026: Access to our usual Surgery & Pain parking and entrance areas will be blocked due to construction.
Surgery & Pain Patients Please:
- Enter through the Main Hospital Entrance
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time
Surgery & Pain registration will be temporarily relocated during construction. Upon arrival, please check in at the front registration desk and a staff member will direct you to the appropriate waiting area.
Beginning in November: Construction will begin to impact our current patient care rooms as we renovate existing spaces and continue the expansion.
During this phase:
- Your pre-operative and post-operative care may take place in multiple areas of the hospital, which may require transportation between locations.
- Some conversations with your surgeon may take place through a secure virtual communication system.
- Due to limited space, you may share a room with another patient during portions of your stay.
Please know that we will continue to protect your privacy and provide the same high-quality, compassionate care throughout the construction process. Our team will make every effort to keep you comfortable and informed during your visit.
We greatly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding during this exciting transition. Please excuse any temporary mess, noise, or inconvenience as we work to improve our facility and expand the services available to our patients.
