Humboldt County Iowa COVID-19 Vaccine
Here's where to get your COVID-19 Vaccine in Humboldt, IA:
Additional COVID-19 Vaccine for Immunocompromised Individuals
On August 13, 2021, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems receive an additional dose of COVID-19 (Moderna and Pfizer) following their initial 2-dose vaccination series. The authorizations for these vaccines have been amended to allow for an additional, or third, dose to be administered at least 28 days following the two-dose regimen of the same vaccine to individuals 18 years of age or older (ages 12 or older for Pfizer-BioNTech) who have undergone solid organ transplantation, or who are diagnosed with conditions that are considered to have an equivalent level of immunocompromise.
There is not enough data at this time to determine whether immunocompromised people who received the Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine also have an improved antibody response following an additional dose of the same vaccine.
Individuals can self-attest and receive the additional dose wherever vaccines are offered.
Pfizer vaccine: Hy-Vee Pharmacy Humboldt. No appointment necessary.
Moderna vaccine: Larry’s Pharmacy Humboldt. No appointment necessary.
*CDC does not recommend additional doses or booster shots for any other population at this time.
