Public Notice: Request for Qualifications Notice

Henkel Construction Company is the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) for the MRI/Outpatient Additions & Renovations project at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt, Iowa.

Pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 26A, firms must be prequalified to bid on Trade Contract Work (“subcontractors”) and Material Packages (“suppliers”) with a value in excess of the competitive bid threshold of $206,000.  Prequalification criteria will be included on a Statement of Qualifications to be completed by the potential bidder and will include firm experience, capacity of key personnel, technical competence, capability to perform, past performance, safety record, compliance with state and federal laws, and availability to and familiarity with the location of the project.   

As such, Henkel is currently seeking prequalification for the following associated with the project listed above: 

Trade Contract Work: 

  •  Bid Package No. 03A-01 – Cast-In-Place Concrete
  • Bid Package No. 05A-01 – Structural Steel Procurement

 

To be considered for pre-qualification, please request a Statement of Qualifications from Trey Seiser at trey@henkelconstruction.com. The Statement of Qualifications must be completed and returned to Henkel Construction at trey@henkelconstruction.com or to Henkel’s office at 208 East State Street, Mason City, Iowa by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 1st, 2026.  Per Iowa Code, only firms that are prequalified for a Bid Package in excess of $206,000 are allowed to submit a bid.

Description 
Project includes approximately 2,470 SF of new construction comprising an MRI suite addition and outpatient surgery/pre-post-op addition to the existing hospital, along with approximately 3,000 SF of interior renovation to existing procedure, surgical support, and clinic spaces. The project will be constructed in multiple phases to maintain continuous hospital operations. 

A copy of the preliminary ‘Design Development’ plans can be reviewed upon Request for Statement of Qualifications.  Note that these documents are only for use in association with the pre-qualification process and are not to be used to prepare bids and/or during construction.
